Starday is a to-do app made by Aja Frost. By using it, you agree to what's below. It's short on purpose.
Who can use Starday
Anyone 13 or older. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission.
Your account
You sign in with an email address or a Google account. Keep access to that account secure — anyone who can get into it can get into your Starday data. Give accurate information when you sign up, and don't use someone else's account.
What Starday costs
Nothing. Starday is free to use. If that ever changes, you'll be told well before it affects you, and you'll never be charged without agreeing first.
What you can't do
Don't break the law with it, don't try to break into other people's accounts, don't attack or overload the service, don't scrape it or resell access to it, and don't use it to store or send anything illegal or abusive. If you do any of that, your account can be closed.
Your content is yours
Your tasks, rewards, stars, and settings belong to you. Starday stores them and syncs them across your devices so the app works, and does nothing else with them — no ads, no analytics, no selling or sharing. See the privacy policy for details.
AI scoring
When you add a task, its title is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to estimate its difficulty. AI guesses are just guesses — sometimes they're wrong, and you can always override them by tapping the pills. Don't put anything in a task title you wouldn't want processed by a third-party AI service.
Starday is provided as-is
Starday is a one-person project offered for free, with no warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, lose data, or change without notice. Please keep your own backups — you can export one anytime from Settings. To the fullest extent the law allows, Aja Frost isn't liable for any loss or damage that comes from using (or not being able to use) Starday.
Ending things
You can stop using Starday whenever you want. To delete your account and everything in it, email support and it will be done within 3 business days. Starday can also suspend or close an account that's breaking these terms, or shut down the service entirely — with reasonable notice where possible, so you can export your data.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. When they are, the effective date below changes, and meaningful changes will be announced in the app or by email. Using Starday after that means you accept the new version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts.
